I first tried Good George beer at the Auckland Food Show
. Their beautiful brand first caught my eye as did their amazing truck which they had as a prop at their booth. When I was asked if I wanted to try an IPA, I knew these were my kind of people. Their beer tasted deliciously like my favourite American IPAs, not something that is commonly found in New Zealand.
When I was down in Hamilton last week visiting with the talented Bron Alexander she suggested we head over to Good George for lunch, little did I know at the time that this was the delicious beer I had just tried the weekend before. I enjoyed another deliciously fresh IPA that accompanied my rocket, pear, walnut salad beautifully. The staff were all very friendly and the restaurant was jammed packed full of people enjoying good food and drinks on a Sunday afternoon.
Good George came to life after a bunch friends got together and decided after years in hospitality and brewing it was time to create their own craft beer brand. Their main motivation was they wanted to show people what great beer can be and show them how to enjoy fantastic beer.
If you are in the Hamilton area I highly suggest popping in for a drink and a bite. Or alternatively you can see where to find some local Good George near you here
